Insolvency service declares first rise for 12 months

For the first time in over a year, the number of individuals declaring themselves insolvent has risen, according to figures released by the Insolvency Service.
Despite becoming an increasingly popular solution, debt management plans are not included in these figures. This has lead to a large amount of scepticism from a number of bodies, who claim that these figures do not therefore accurately reflect the number of individuals who have sought insolvency based solutions to their debt problems.
